Microphone
The decibel meter and the noise meter on this site ask your browser for microphone access when you press Start. The audio stream is analysed in your browser to compute a sound level several times per second and is discarded immediately. No audio is recorded, stored, transmitted or shared. Microphone access ends when you press Stop, close the tab or switch away from it.
Data stored on your device
The calibration offset and the app-banner dismissal are saved in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. They never leave your device and you can clear them through your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages and features are used (for example that a measurement was started, or that a store link was clicked). IP anonymisation is enabled and Google's advertising features are not used. No sound levels, audio or personal details are sent. You can block analytics with a browser setting or extension without affecting the tools.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies to distinguish visits; see the analytics section above.
Accounts, advertising and third parties
There are no accounts, no advertising and no data brokers. Links to the App Store, Google Play and browser extension stores take you to those platforms, whose own privacy policies then apply. When you scan a QR code on this site, a short redirect page records that a scan happened (store and app identifiers only) before sending you on.
The apps and the extension
The HowLoud app for iOS and Android and the HowLoud browser extension are separate products with their own privacy notices, shown in the stores and inside the products. In short: no audio recording, no accounts, no analytics in the app.
Children
The site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The classroom noise meter processes sound locally and stores nothing.

Because we hold no personal data about visitors, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on request, but you are welcome to write to contact@nadzeyayashchuk.com with any question. Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
