Estimates, not measurements
The sound level shown by the tools on this site is an estimate computed from an uncalibrated consumer microphone. It is not a measurement made with an instrument certified to IEC 61672-1 or any other standard, and it must not be relied on for legal proceedings, noise-complaint evidence, occupational health and safety compliance, medical decisions or hearing-protection decisions. For those purposes use a certified Class 1 or Class 2 sound level meter operated by a competent person.
Health information
Guides and level pages summarise published guidance (NIOSH, WHO, EU directives) for general information. They are not medical advice. If you have hearing symptoms, consult a doctor or audiologist.
Use of the site
You may use the tools and read the content for personal and professional purposes free of charge. You may not scrape, mirror or republish the content, or interfere with the operation of the site. The tools require microphone access that you grant in your browser and can revoke at any time.
